Oh, and another nod:

Some years ago the french girly band Nouvelle Vague published and album called "bande a part" where they interpret 80ies classics including songs from Billy Idol, New Order and Bauhaus in a light jazzy style. The CD also contains "Human Fly" from the Cramps and they go "bzzz -bzzz" in their cute french accent. Mr. Interior would probalby have something ferocious to say about that.

Cheers,

Ulrich

Hi,

here's a nods in their direction throughout pop culture for you: "Near Dark" by Kathryn Bigelow, who will hopefully receive this year a numer of Oscars for "The Hurt Locker". At the start of the key scene in which a bunch of cowboy vampires kill everyone in a hinterwald bar Jenny Wright puts a coin into a jukebox and chooses - "Fever" in the Cramps version. I'm just in the process of digitalizing my old vinyl and looked up Lux Interiors, just to fint out that he died a jear ago. Acually I was surprised that he held out so long. Sure he was one Mad Daddy.

Cheers,

Ulrich (from Berlin).

P.S. Still have the "Bad Music For Bad People" poster rolled up somewhere but I can not put it up, don't want to scare the kids, and time goes on anyway.

People say that rap is a dead form. I tend to believe different, I believe it's just evolving, and staying current. Prime example is what we've been doing over here... Check out Kryptik - V.I.P ft. Crooked I. Just google it, I don't wanna spam a link. poor mother

A fitting tribute to one of the finest rock performers of all time. Lux and The Cramps were the opitomy of Rock'n'Roll for me. No other music or Live performance can give you what this band gave.
RIP Lux you are sadly missed

see, i thought Tasankokaiku was a stronger establishment of that Shogun Kunitoki sound, while Vinonaamakasio is more like (not always entirely successful) variations on the themes. i'm a much bigger fan of the former, is what i mean, and i think it's more cohesive.

wow. that is some serious itunes hatred right there. ill add in my two cents if you dont mind:

first, yes- i am a mac user, and itunes behaves absolutely wonderfully within OSX. its actually very speedy, and a lightweight app- that is about the only difference. im really lost as to why the windows port is so absolutely broken. in. every. way.i should know, i used to use itunes on my winXP box. (blasted iphone.) now i'll address some issues in a 'lightning round' fashion.

-drag and drop album adding - dear god yes. please? please?

-library monitoring - again, wtf. please? ill even settle for a refresh button!

-broken metadata - i actually havent experienced this in OSX, but in windows, yes. i remember one time it had replaced the 'artist' tag in EVERY ALBUM i own. basically, it removed all the vowels. so 'justin timberlake' was 'jstn tmbrlk' WTF ITUNES?

so yes. even as a mac user, where it functions pretty well in the wonderful fantasy covered gumdrop that is OSX, i tunes still eats a bag of dicks.
